About Katy

Katy is a certified Balanced Body instructor with a passion for movement and music.  She is also a licensed massage therapist and holds a Masters in Education from UVA.

Since graduating from Deep Muscle Therapy School,  she continued her education in different modalities including:

  • Thai foot massage
  • sports massage
  • facial rejuvenation massage
  • hot stone massage
  • aqua aerobics
  • Pilates Reformer 1, 2 and 3 as well as mat.

Being an avid tennis player, musician, and dancer for much of her life, she understands firsthand the injuries associated with repetitive stress.

Her approach to Pilates involves detective work, assessing areas of strength and weakness in her clientele.  This information helps her design the safest and most effective routines to help her clients achieve optimal performance in their daily activities.  She enjoys using massage techniques, such as myofascial release, in her Pilates practice to help promote stretching and recovery.

After a session with Katy, clients report feeling considerably motivated to strengthen their bodies as well as relaxed and rejuvenated.
